The 51猎奇入口Stephens Family School of Medicine at 51猎奇入口 invites applications for a Family Medicine Assessment Lead. The appointment will be for a 3-year term, renewable, with an underlying clinical faculty position. The underlying clinical faculty position will be made at the appropriate rank in accordance with Policy A10.07- Clinical Faculty Appointments in the School of Medicine. To be eligible to hold the underlying clinical faculty position, candidates are expected to be able to contribute skills-based instruction and case-based learning, clinical supervision and/or service to the University and/or to the profession, and/or scholarly activity related to medical education and/or medical research. This is a part-time appointment equivalent to roughly 0.2 FTE to facilitate other commitments candidates have.
The salary for the successful applicant will depend on the rank and experience of the candidate, however, a reasonable estimate of the salary range is $55,580 - $60,580 (corresponding to a 0.2 FTE).
This position reports to the Family Medicine Program Director.
Key Areas of Involvement
The Family Medicine (FM) Assessment Lead is responsible for working with program leadership to support the design and implementation of Family Medicine assessment practices, tools and policies within the Family Medicine Residency Program. They are responsible for the supporting coordination and quality assurance of resident assessment and performance across all Family Medicine sites, to ensure standardized implementation and escalation of emerging issues to the Program Director and Associate Dean, Assessment, Evaluation & Accreditation. In addition, the FM Assessment Lead oversees, in conjunction with and under the academic oversight of the Associate Dean, Accreditation, Assessment and Evaluation, the continuous quality improvement of the program of assessment in the context of competency-based training.
In fulfilling this mandate, the FM Assessment Lead works in close collaboration with other Family Medicine Portfolio Leads, the Program Director, the Site Director(s) and Clinical Learning Site Directors, clinical faculty, PGME program office and Assessment & Academic Success Office. The FM Assessment Lead provides discipline-specific expertise and operational leadership for Family Medicine assessment activities; however, substantive changes to the Program of Assessment, such as assessment design, standards, tools, processes, reporting requirements, or policies, requires review and approval through the appropriate PGME governance processes.
The specific areas of involvement include, but are not limited to:
- Program-level system design, development, and quality assurance for Assessment and processes related to decisions on competence:
- Contributes their Family Medicine expertise to the design, development, and implementation and quality assurance of the program of assessment for the Family Medicine Residency program.
- Oversight of the Resident Assessment System through supporting implementation, monitoring and compliance in congruence with the Family Medicine program of assessment, principles of Continuous Reflective Assessment For Training, the Assessment Objectives of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and Standards for Accreditation for Residency Programs in Family Medicine (Redbook).
- Working with and supporting the Residency Site Director(s) to ensure implementation, monitoring and quality assurance of the established and approved assessment and evaluation processes at all sites and distributed streams of the 51猎奇入口Family Medicine Residency Program. This includes assessment in the academic, clinical and educational contexts.
- Act as a resource person to the Program and specifically; Resident Portfolio Coaches, Site Directors and preceptors in the area of assessment.
- In partnership with the Program Director and Site Director(s), support sites in the work of the clinical competency committees for their site, including promoting consistency in the interpretation and use of assessment data and standards to inform progress and advancement recommendations.
- In partnership with the Assistant Dean, Faculty Engagement and Support, and Clinical Learning Site Directors, support sites in the work of assessment of preceptors.
- Identify trends and escalate concerns or system-level issues to the Program Director and Associate Dean, Accreditation, Assessment & Evaluation.
- Regular participation in the following meetings/committees:
- Family Medicine Residency Program Committee (RPC)
- Family Medicine Clinical Competency Committee (Chair)
- Family Medicine Curriculum & Assessment Subcommittee
- CFPC National Assessment Directors Meetings
- Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) Competence-Based Medical Education (CBME) Subcommittee if/as needed
- Postgraduate Medical Education Committee (PGMEC) if/as required
- Other meetings/committees as needed
- Design and lead program-wide retreats and faculty development as they pertain to Assessment, in alignment with the established assessment principles, standards, tools and program priorities.
- Faculty development:
- Support the work of the Faculty Education and Support Leads.
- Assist in the orientation of new faculty or preceptors in the area of Assessment.
- Acts as a resource to Site Directors in areas pertaining to resident performance and advancement.
- Reviews assessment data to support the program-level competency committees in their work.
- Contribute to Program-wide events (e.g., orientation, retreats, CaRMS) as they relate to assessment & learner progression.
- Accreditation:
- Prepares accreditation and Internal Review documents in collaboration with the Program Director, Associate Dean, Accreditation, Assessment & Evaluation, the Assessment & Academic Success Office and PGME program office.
- Participates in the Accreditation and Internal Review visits.
- Identifies opportunities for improvement & makes recommendations regarding changes needed to improve the assessment system to meet accreditation standards with substantive changes to assessment design, standards, tools, data definitions, reporting structures or policies requiring review and approval through the appropriate PGME assessment governance processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Eligibility for appointment as Clinical Faculty in accordance with Policy A10.07- Clinical Faculty Appointments in the School of Medicine
- M.D. (Doctor of Medicine) degree and Certification from the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), in good standing*.
- Eligibility to hold a license to practice medicine in British Columbia.
- Direct teaching experience with medical learners).
- Familiarity with PGME programs (with a preference for primary care environments).
- Commitment to continual growth and reflective practice related to reconciliation, decolonization, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and social accountability.

The Stephens Family School of Medicine at 51猎奇入口 invites applications for a Anatomy/Physiology Lab Lead. The appointment will be for a 3-year term, renewable, with an underlying clinical faculty position. The underlying clinical faculty position will be made at the appropriate rank and category, commensurate with appointment policy A10.07 鈥 Clinical Faculty Appointments. To be eligible to hold the underlying clinical faculty position, candidates may be expected to be able to contribute to skills-based instruction and case-based learning, clinical supervision and/or service to the University and/or to the profession, and/or scholarly activity. This is a part-time appointment equivalent to roughly 0.4 FTE to facilitate other commitments candidates have.
The salary for the successful applicant will depend on the qualifications, rank, category of appointment, and experience of the candidate. For candidates with an MD, a reasonable estimate of the salary range is $111,160 鈥 $121,160 (corresponding to a 0.4FTE). Candidates with alternate credentials with relevant experience may be considered under alternate salary models.
This position reports to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education (AD UGME).
Key Areas of Involvement
The Anatomy/Physiology Lab Lead is responsible for the design, development, and delivery of anatomy and physiology learning within the undergraduate medical education program. In fulfilling this mandate, the Anatomy/Physiology Lab Lead works in close collaboration with the Case-Based Learning (CBL) Lead, the Assistant Dean, Curriculum, the MEDS 410 Course Lead, the Anatomy/Physiology and POCUS Curriculum Lead, other instructors, and the School鈥檚 Medical Education Technologies team. The specific areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:
- Design and deliver weekly anatomy and physiology learning activities aligned with Case-Based Learning (CBL), Clinical Skills, and Simulation sessions.
- Lead anatomy laboratory sessions and coordinate or delegate instructional responsibilities, as appropriate.
- Develop supplemental self-directed anatomy and physiology learning resources and activities.
- Provide oversight of anatomy and physiology learning, including the integration of ultrasound and other biomedical educational technologies.
- Collaborate with curriculum leaders and educational technology staff to support innovative and effective anatomy and physiology instruction.
- Provide ongoing mentorship and academic support to learners.
- Undertake such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME).
- Optionally assume additional instructional and/or administrative responsibilities where a full-time equivalent workload is desired.
- Contribute to the development, review, and continuous quality improvement of anatomy and physiology curriculum and learning resources.
- Support the development and implementation of learner assessment related to anatomy and physiology.
- Work collaboratively with faculty and staff to ensure alignment of anatomy and physiology learning across the UGME curriculum.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
- Eligibility for appointment as Clinical Faculty in accordance with Policy A10.07- Clinical Faculty Appointments in the School of Medicine
- Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., MD, or PhD, EdD in medical/clinical education, or related discipline).
- Experience with the development, management, and/or monitoring of medical education curriculum and/or programs.
- Familiarity with undergraduate medical education, anatomy and imaging technologies, and health care environments (with preference given to applicants with experience in primary care settings).
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and respect for Indigenous cultural identities, values, and ways of knowing.
- Demonstrated ability to build collaborative, and trust-based relationships across differences in identity, role, perspective, and lived experience.
Additional Assets
- Eligibility for licensure to practise medicine in British Columbia
- Knowledge of undergraduate medical education accreditation standards and accreditation processes is an asset.
- Experience teaching point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS), or related biomedical sciences is an asset.

In fulfilling this mandate, the FM Scholarship Lead works in close collaboration with other Family Medicine Program Leads, the Site Director(s), and the School of Medicine Research Division.
The specific areas of involvement include, but are not limited to:
- Connect/support preceptors/faculty for Scholarship activities that involve residents
- Liaise with community preceptors for practice-based QI work
- Assuring that Scholarship is being supported at every site
- Develop curriculum and resources that support effective functioning of scholarship and research processes in Family Medicine
- Communicate with Site Director(s) as required, particularly regarding new curriculum scholarship initiatives or issues regarding resident performance
- Coordinate the remediation process for Family Medicine residents who are not meeting Scholar expectations
- Help to develop and implement Family Medicine policies and processes relevant to scholarship
- Help to identify and implement faculty development opportunities that support preceptors with developing scholarship and teaching skills.

This position reports to the Family Medicine Program Director. This position will support the first inaugural site in the communities of Fraser South as well as support expansion planning in Fraser North.
Key Areas of Involvement
The Family Medicine Residency Site Director (Fraser鈥疭outh鈥& Fraser North) is responsible for providing support and oversight for the provision of resident educational experiences at their respective training site, ensuring alignment with the 51猎奇入口Family Medicine Residency Program鈥檚 curriculum objectives and assessment framework. The FMR Site Director is also responsible for overseeing administrative activities of their respective training site as they relate to the Family Medicine program.
In fulfilling this mandate, the FMR Site Director collaborates with the FM Program Director, FM Portfolio (Curriculum, Assessment, and Scholar) Leads, FM Program Administrator, Site Administrator, Clinical Site Directors from communities within their respective site, Acute Care Leads from hospitals within their respective site, Faculty Education and Support Leads, residents, and other members of the faculty and administrative team.
The specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Develop and monitor learning experiences at the site that are consistent with Family Medicine Residency Program objectives and CFPC standards in collaboration with the FM Program Director and FM Portfolio (Curriculum, Assessment, and Scholar) Leads.
Ensures that the site adheres to requirements of CanRAC, College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), and Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) accreditation standards, and that Resident Doctors of BC collective agreement.
Serves as the Chair of the Site Operations Subcommittee, a working subcommittee of the Family Medicine Residency Program Committee (FM-RPC).
Represents the site at the Family Medicine Residency Program Committee (FM-RPC) to ensure opportunities and challenges at the site are considered in overall planning
Support resident learning and progress ensuring that:
Residents have access to additional resources and supported as required
Program Directors are informed about residents who are in difficulty and who may require remedial training.
All residents meet regularly with their Resident Portfolio Coach to review progress and plan learning.
Participate in the review of resident performance as part of the Clinical Competency Committee (CCC), including collaborating in the creation of learning/ remediation plans to ensure they reflect available site resources.
In collaboration with the 51猎奇入口Stephens Family School of Medicine鈥檚 Assessment and Learner Progress Unit and the FM Assessment Lead, provide resources and practice opportunities at a site level to support residents in preparing themselves for the CFPC certification exam.
Oversee the progress of resident scholar projects in conjunction with the FM Scholarship Lead.
Regularly review teaching locations and teacher effectiveness including creating action plans in response to data and reports provided by the Educational Quality Improvement (EQI) Unit with the Clinical Site Directors.
Contribute to a creation and maintenance of a supportive site culture and learning environment that facilitates resident, administrator, and preceptor resilience and wellbeing.
Administer that site budget and assist Program Director in budget planning for site.
Maintain confidential resident records.
Participate in CaRMS resident selection process and assist Program Director in the preparation of the site rank list.
Organize the site orientation for new residents.
Performing site visits to establish new clinical experiences for residents.
Liaise with the relevant Divisions of Family Practice, Hospital Administration, and local Health Authority as needed.

The Assistant Dean appointment will be for a 3-year term, renewable once, with an underlying faculty position. Clinical Faculty:

The Assistant Dean reports to the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Medical Education (UGME) and liaises with and supports all sectors of the educational continuum in 51猎奇入口School of Medicine.
Key Areas of Involvement
The primary objective of the Assistant Dean, Admissions is to develop, review, and uphold policies and processes that ensure medical student selection is conducted rigorously and aligns with best evidence, best practices, and the priorities of the 51猎奇入口School of Medicine. Under the direction of the Associate Dean, UGME, the Assistant Dean provides leadership in the development and implementation of the school鈥檚 undergraduate medical education goals.
Support the implementation and ongoing refinement of the Indigenous Admissions Stream under the leadership of the Associate Dean, Indigenous Health Stewardship.
In collaboration with the Associate Dean, Assessment, Accreditation and Evaluation, monitor the processes and outcomes of MD program admissions and ensure ongoing compliance with CACMS accreditation standards.
In collaboration with the Associate Dean, UGME and Associate Dean, Learners and Admission committee: develop, interpret and/or implement policies related to MD Admissions.
Work closely with the deanery of the School of Medicine to develop admissions policies, planning and operations
Work closely with the Dean and administrative directors of the School of Medicine to support the space, staffing, and funding needs of MD Program Admissions.
Participate as a member of provincial and national committees involved in undergraduate medical admissions.
Assess and adjudicate all requests for admission exceptions, requests, and deferrals in accordance with established policies and guidelines.
Liaise with 51猎奇入口and provincial offices outside the School of Medicine to ensure alignment with and adherence to relevant policies and requirements.
Engage with admissions leaders at other Canadian universities to promote innovation and collaboratively address issues of mutual interest and concern.
Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the Dean or the Associate Dean, UGME.

The role ensures that assessments are valid, reliable, fair, and aligned with Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) principles and program objectives.

Provide pedagogical leadership鈥痠n the design, development, and continuous enhancement of Knowledge Assessments to support learner progression and program outcomes.

Work with Course Directors and faculty members鈥痶o facilitate question-writing workshops, blueprint assessment content, support peer review processes, and contribute to standard-setting activities.
Partner with the Learner Assessment team鈥痮n scoring methodologies, item analysis, data interpretation, reporting, and strengthening assessment quality.
Support quality assurance processes鈥痶hrough content review, ensuring content validity, curricular alignment, clarity, and appropriate levels of cognitive demand.
Ensure compliance鈥痺ith accreditation standards, institutional policies, and best practices in medical education assessment.
Provide recommendations for targeted skills development, remediation planning, and feedback based on assessment results.

The 51猎奇入口Stephens Family School of Medicine at 51猎奇入口 invites applications for Clinical Site Director- Burnaby. The appointment will be for a 3-year term, renewable, with an underlying clinical faculty position. The underlying clinical faculty position will be made at the appropriate rank in accordance with Policy A10.07- Clinical Faculty Appointments in the School of Medicine. To be eligible to hold the underlying clinical faculty position, candidates are expected to be able to contribute skills-based instruction and case-based learning, clinical supervision and/or service to the University and/or to the profession, and/or scholarly activity related to medical education and/or medical research. This is a part-time appointment equivalent to roughly 0.2 FTE to facilitate other commitments candidates may have.
The salary for the successful applicant will depend on the rank and experience of the candidate, however, a reasonable estimate of the salary range is $55,580 - $60,580.

The 51猎奇入口Stephens Family School of Medicine at 51猎奇入口 is seeking a part-time鈥疌linical Site Director- Burnaby to work collaboratively within the community in preparation for welcoming medical students and residents for their clinical experiences.
Provide leadership in developing the Burnaby clinical site to prepare for accepting medical students and residents for clinical experiences in community and acute care settings.
Actively engage, recruit, and support preceptors to foster high-quality teaching and learning experiences.
Work closely with the Faculty Education and Support Lead - Burnaby to promote faculty education and support opportunities for current and prospective preceptors.
Work closely with the Acute Care Lead - Burnaby (once hired) to engage and recruit hospital-based preceptors and identify appropriate hospital-based clinical learning opportunities
Plan and align clinical learning opportunities with curricular outcomes, contributing to curriculum development, accreditation, and program launch.
Collaborate with partner organizations including Divisions of Family Practice, Medical Staff Associations, hospitals, and community groups to strengthen site capacity.
Contribute to onboarding additional clinical sites in preparation for welcoming medical students and residents.

Key Areas of Involvement
The Faculty Lead, EQI provides academic and strategic leadership for all evaluation and educational quality improvement activities across the School of Medicine's undergraduate (UGME), postgraduate (PGME), and continuing professional development (CPD) programs. The Faculty Lead, EQI collaborates with the Director of Evaluation to set the evaluative vision and priorities for the EQI Unit 鈥 including its philosophical approach, equity orientation, and alignment with institutional mission 鈥 and serves as the primary academic advisor to senior educational leadership on evaluation strategy.
This is a 0.5 FTE leadership role, reporting to the Associate Dean, Assessment, Evaluation, and Accreditation. The Faculty Lead, EQI functions as a dyad partner with the Director of Evaluation, who holds responsibility for translating the strategic vision into operational execution. The Faculty Lead, EQI holds final authority on evaluative vision, equity priorities, and academic direction; the Director of Evaluation holds primary accountability for operational execution, data systems, and staff supervision.
The specific areas of involvement include, but are not limited to:
1. Strategic Leadership and Planning
Develops and maintains a school-wide evaluation and educational quality improvement (EQI) framework that integrates UGME, PGME, and CPD program evaluation 鈥 setting the philosophical approach, equity orientation, and overarching priorities.
Collaborates with Division Leads to use high-quality data for program development and planning, ensuring findings are applied equitably and do not reinforce bias or structural disadvantage.
Serves as the primary academic advisor to the Associate Dean, and Dean on evaluation strategy, priorities, and the interpretation of evaluation findings in relation to educational quality and equity. Presents strategic evaluation insights at senior leadership forums.
Collaborates with the Director of Evaluation to align evaluation activities with accreditation standards and institutional strategic plans. Champions a culture of responsible, data-informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the School of Medicine.
2. Program Evaluation Design and Oversight
Leads the conceptual design of equity-focused, learner-centred, multi-method evaluation plans (quantitative and qualitative) for UGME, PGME, and CPD programs, including logic models, evaluation questions, data sources, timelines, and reporting mechanisms.
Collaborates with the Director of Evaluation to ensure systematic collection and synthesis of learner, faculty, community, and administrative feedback; outcomes data; curricular mapping outputs; learning environment and wellness data; and graduate and practice outcomes.
Interrogates equity and justice within evaluation data (e.g., outcomes, learning experiences, and resource access) across social locations and learning contexts; partners with affected communities to interpret and act on findings.
Oversees evaluation of major curriculum changes, new programs, and innovative educational initiatives, working with the Director of Evaluation to provide formative and summative direction to leaders and committees.
Supports programs in using Competency-Based Medical Education (CBME) data (e.g., milestones, EPAs, portfolios) for program evaluation and improvement, working with the Director of Evaluation to develop appropriate instruments and analytic plans.
Collaborates with faculty and program leaders to design and evaluate targeted precision education interventions, monitoring both impact and unintended consequences.
3. Data Governance, Analysis, and Reporting
Provides academic and ethical oversight of data governance 鈥 advising on equity-focused analytic approaches, safeguards against algorithmic bias, and community-informed interpretations of evaluation data.
Advises the Data Governance Committee to establish standards for data quality, privacy, and the ethical use of learner and faculty data, including safeguards to minimize algorithmic bias and misuse of data in ways that could disadvantage equity-deserving learners.
Develops analytic approaches that combine cohort-level indicators with learner journey and case-study data, ensuring that precision education initiatives are informed by both quantitative patterns and lived experience.
Collaborates with the Director of Evaluation to produce reports and visualizations that make equity gaps and precision education outcomes visible and understandable to leaders, programs, and learners, and co-creates action plans in response.
Reviews and approves evaluation reports and presentations for educational leaders, committees, accrediting bodies, and external partners, in partnership with the Director of Evaluation.
4. Collaboration, Consultation, and Capacity-Building
Collaborates with UGME, PGME, and CPD leaders, course and modality leads, and program administrators to embed evaluation and quality improvement into routine educational practice.
Partners with learners, faculty, and community representatives 鈥 including Indigenous and equity-deserving groups 鈥 to co-design evaluation questions, indicators, and interpretations that reflect multiple ways of knowing and definitions of success.
Fosters partnerships with institutional offices (e.g., quality and safety, patient experience, equity and diversity) to align educational and clinical quality initiatives.
5. Leadership of the EQI Unit
Provides leadership and professional development oversight for the EQI Unit as a whole 鈥 working with the Director of Evaluation to set team culture and identify work plan priorities and establishes scholarly expectations.
Manages the EQI Unit's budget and project portfolio in collaboration with the Director of Evaluation, ensuring timely completion of deliverables.
Collaborates with the Director of Evaluation to establish and monitor standard operating procedures for evaluation projects, including project intake, prioritization, timelines, and dissemination.
Promotes an inclusive, collaborative, and scholarly unit culture that centres equity, psychological safety, and shared learning.
6. Scholarship and External Engagement
Leads and disseminates scholarship in program evaluation and educational quality improvement, including peer-reviewed publications, external presentations, and grant leadership.
Represents 51猎奇入口School of Medicine in local, national, and international networks related to CBME, program evaluation, and educational quality improvement.
Monitors emerging best practices in health professions education evaluation and recommends appropriate innovations for the Unit.
Qualifications & Experience
Required
Eligibility for appointment as Clinical Faculty in accordance with Policy A10.07- Clinical Faculty Appointments in the School of Medicine
M.D. and eligibility for medical licensure in British Columbia (preferred). Candidates with alternate credentials in health professions or a related field who are eligible for appointment as Clinical Faculty may be considered.
Advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., PhD, EdD, MD, MHPE, MSc in Health Professions Education, Epidemiology, or related discipline).
Significant experience designing, conducting, and leading evaluation of clinical training environments and health professions education programs, including UGME and at least one of PGME or CPD.
Demonstrated expertise in program evaluation frameworks and methodologies (e.g., logic models, mixed-methods).
Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, and learner wellness in evaluation and decision-making, including experience conducting or using equity-focused analyses (e.g., disaggregated outcomes, learning environment data).
Strong understanding of medical education structures, CBME principles, and accreditation requirements.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex data clearly to diverse audiences, listen to stakeholder input, and build consensus when appropriate.

This part-time academic administrative role is equivalent to roughly 0.5 FTE to facilitate clinical practice hours outside of academic work.

The position will be made at the appropriate rank in accordance with Policy A10.07 - Clinical Faculty Appointments in the School of Medicine. To be eligible to hold a clinical faculty appointment, candidates are expected to be able to contribute to skills-based instruction and case-based learning, service to the University and/or the profession, and/or scholarly activity related to medical education and/or medical research.
Clinical Learning Facilitators will play a key role in the early development and launch of high-quality medical education within 51猎奇入口鈥檚 School of Medicine. These roles will support the establishment of the core educational activities and help bring the undergraduate and postgraduate medical education programs into operation. Clinical Learning Facilitators will contribute to teaching and inspiring learners, supervising students, contributing to curriculum design and assessment, and participating in academic service and administrative leadership to launch the program. Clinical Learning Facilitators are expected to act as professional role models, support mentorship, develop evaluation materials, and contribute to research or educational innovation. Through these activities, these roles will help shape the next generation of physicians by laying the groundwork for learner-centered, inclusive, and community-engaged teaching practices that align with the School鈥檚 vision of advancing health equity.
