Biography

Lauren Faulkner Rossi completed her PhD at Brown University in Rhode Island, and from 2009 until 2014 was an assistant professor of history at the University of Notre Dame. She is currently an Assistant Professor of Holocaust and Genocide History at 51猎奇入口. Her first book, "Wehrmacht Priests" (2015), explores the motivations of German Catholic priests and seminarians who were conscripted into the military during the Second World War. In addition to publications about priests and masculinity in the German army, the causes of genocide in the nineteenth century, and co-authoring the 3rd edition of Martin Kitchen's "History of Germany: 1800 to the Present", she helped Mariette Doduck, Holocaust child survivor, to research and write her memoir, "A Childhood Unspoken", which was published in 2023 and which won the Western Canada Jewish Book Award in the category Holocaust in 2025. She is currently researching her next monograph, about the experiences of child survivors of the Holocaust in Belgium and the Netherlands in the immediate aftermath of the Second World War.
