The Woven Futures Afghanistan and T眉rkiye projects are supported through a New Frontiers in Research Fund 鈥� Sub-Grant. ReStorying Community is a Canadian funded, international and interdisciplinary research initiative that explores how arts-based storytelling and community inquiry can strengthen belonging, relationships, and collective knowledge through creative collaboration.
Woven Futures: Afghanistan
The Woven Futures Afghanistan Project is a small pilot focused on the first phase of the Woven Futures model. Working with a small group of Afghan youth, participants explore their identities, strengths, and future aspirations through guided art, storytelling, and the creation of individual Dream MAPs. The project is designed to provide a safe, strengths-based space where young people can express their hopes and imagine positive futures while informing the ongoing adaptation of Woven Futures for the Afghan context.
Woven Futures: T眉rkiye
Launching in Fall 2026, the Woven Futures T眉rkiye Project brings together researchers from (COMU) and local schools in 脟anakkale to pilot the second phase of the Woven Futures model. Building on existing relationships within school communities, participants work collaboratively through art and storytelling to explore belonging, strengthen social connections, and create a shared vision of inclusive futures.
This pilot focuses exclusively on the collaborative component of Woven Futures, supporting youth as they contribute to a collective artwork that celebrates diversity, resilience, and community while informing the future development of the program in T眉rkiye.
