Students in the School of Communication have the opportunity to study health and science communications, including the impact of misinformation. Communication provides students with a foundation in critical thinking, reading, and analysis that allows them to study the cultures, histories, technologies, and ideologies of the media and communication infrastructures in our society and shape the way that knowledge and discoveries in the areas of health and science are framed and shared with the public.

In the School of Interactive Arts and Technology, students learn digital arts and user experience design skills that are highly applicable to the health sector and other areas of scientific inquiry. The Bachelor of Science program in SIAT offers an opportunity to work with a variety of media and digital technology involved in the health and science fields, including mobile apps and VR for health applications. With their skills in user experience design, web development, and graphic design, students build a portfolio of their work through collaborating with their peers and instructors. SIAT's  focuses on investigating brain plasticity and neuro-training to create successful digital health solutions for real-world applications, while researchers at the study, invent, and design technologies for people who live with persistent pain, their pain physicians and healthcare professionals, their caregivers, and their social milieux.
