A paper by computer scientist Kehui Li, artist Jess MacCormack, and me for the . Online. June 25, 2026. DOI:
I'm proud to announce this outcome of our work on the environmental impact of machine learning and tiny AI alternatives. We are ambivalent about introducing methods to create a tiny image generator, as we believe the best generative imaging is no generative imaging, but we worked hard to develop this practical and speculative model, which is also a conceptual artwork. You can see the slide show on Selected Writing page.
