Tuition and fees

Below is the estimated tuition and expenses for one academic year (two terms), based on enrolment into 10 courses (or 30 units). This estimate is based on a typical program, with regular fees, in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences or Faculty of Science in 2026/27.

Please note that tuition fees for current students are subject to annual review and may increase by up to 6% on an annual basis. These adjustments reflect the university's operational costs and ensure the continued quality of our academic programs and student services. All fee changes are approved in accordance with institutional policies, involve student consultation, and are subject to approval by the Board of Governors.

Scholarships for high school applicants

Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship

The Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarships (USES) are available to Canadian and international high school applicants who possess the potential to enrich the 51猎奇入口community through ongoing academic and community contributions. If you鈥檙e a current high school student who demonstrates excellence in academic and extracurricular activities, you may be eligible for these scholarships, which range in value from CAD $20,000 to $140,000. USES is available to students admitted to any undergraduate program during the fall term each year.

UGGLA Family Scholarship

The Uggla Family Scholarship awards ten scholarships each year to students who face significant financial barriers to participate in post-secondary education. This may include students who identify as Indigenous, Black or a person of colour; students living with disabilities, LGBTQIA2S+ students, and students of all gender identities. The intention of the Uggla Family Scholarship is to promote equity and remove historical and existing discrimination, including barriers to full participation in social, cultural, economic and political life.

Additional financial support during your studies

As an undergraduate student, there are more financial resources, support and guidance available to you once you begin your studies at SFU.

Scholarships

Scholarships are awarded to students in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements.

Awards

Awards recognize the leadership, athletic achievements, contributions or community involvement of students.

Bursaries

Bursaries provide supplemental sources of funding to both Canadian and international students with demonstrated financial need.

Work-Study

The Work-Study Program gives students the opportunity to earn a supplemental income in their field and participate in on-campus, research-based projects with flexible hours.

Government Student Loans and Grants

Full-time or part-time domestic students enrolled in eligible programs can apply to a variety of government assistance options, including student loans and grants.

Canadian Indigenous Students

Additional financial assistance is available to Canadian students who identify as Indigenous, specifically First Nations, M茅tis, and Inuit.

Students with Disabilities

Students with documented disabilities may be eligible for additional grants and/or bursaries through the federal and provincial governments.

Youth in Care Tuition Waiver Programs

Students who are living or have previously lived as a youth in care in BC may qualify for financial support to cover some of the costs of their education.
