Jin-Me Yoon up for a Scotiabank Photography Award
The SCA's Jin-Me Yoon has been longlisted for a 2020 , joining fellow nominees Marian Penner Bancroft, Lori Blondeau, Dana Claxton, Marlene Creates, Chris Curreri, William (Bill) Eakin, Evergon, Sarah Anne Johnson, Emmanuelle L茅onard, and Evan Rensch.
Co-founded in 2010 by Edward Burtynsky, the Scotiabank Photography Award is "Canada鈥檚 largest and most prestigious annual peer-nominated and peer-reviewed award that acknowledges the outstanding contribution that our winners have made to contemporary art and photography." The winner of the prize will receive "a featured primary exhibition co-curated by Paul Roth & Ga毛lle Morel at the during the Scotiabank ," and "a $50,000 cash prize and a book of their work published and distributed worldwide by Steidl of Germany."
The 2020 jurors 鈥 Edward Burtynsky (Artist, chair of the jury), Sophie Hackett (Curator, Photography at the Art Gallery of Ontario), Candice Hopkins (Writer and Curator), and Brian Sholis (Editor, Curator/Writer) 鈥 will announce the shortlist on March 31, and the winner will be announced at a private gala at the Ryerson Image Centre in Toronto on May 12, 2020.
