Dr. Peter Leavitt has received the 2026 Barry Beyerstein Award for Excellence in Teaching. Based on student and faculty nominations, this annual award recognizes outstanding teaching contributions by regular faculty members. Within the Department of Psychology, Leavitt teaches PSYC 100, PSYC 201W, and PSYC 300W.

Nominators highlighted Leavitt鈥檚 enthusiasm for psychology, dedication to student success, and ability to foster an engaging and supportive learning environment. Students praised his ability to make complex concepts accessible while encouraging critical thinking and helping them connect psychological principles to everyday life.
