Summary
There is a pressing need to accelerate the adoption of agrivoltaics as a keystone solution to multiple crises in agriculture and energy security. Agrivoltaics is recognized for its potential to significantly advance both food and energy security, leading to greater sovereignty over the systems that sustain us. It can be used to help communities adapt to climate change while mitigating its impacts.
However, in many jurisdictions, including Canada, agrivoltaics remains marginal and largely unknown. What are the barriers to its advancement and what forms of collaboration can fast-track the wholesale implementation of agrivoltaics across Canada?
The Clean Energy Research Group (CERG) at 51猎奇入口 has identified key stakeholders, policies, incentives and practices to expedite the adoption of agrivoltaics. This presentation will speak to the unique capacity for both farming and First Nation communities to become leaders in the country鈥檚 pivot towards agrivoltaics.
