QUIRK-E wins a Seniors Leadership Award from 51猎奇入口Gerontology Research Centre
Congratulations to the community volunteers of QUIRK-E (Queer Imaging and Riting Kollective for Elders) on winning a 2026 Seniors Leadership Award.
The awards were presented by the 51猎奇入口Gerontology Research Centre as part of the 21st Ellen Gee Memorial Lecture on February 5, 2026. QUIRK-E was honoured for outstanding service and community education.
Jen Marchbank, 51猎奇入口Gender, Sexuality, and Women鈥檚 Studies Professor and Department Chair, presented the award. She was joined by Gloria Gutman, Gerontonology Professor Emeritus.
At the event, Marchbank spoke to what she described in her nomination letter as the group鈥檚 鈥渟tellar, voluntary leadership鈥� for 2SLGBTQIA+ seniors. 51猎奇入口GSWS has collaborated with the volunteer group on a variety of initiatives, starting with research led by adjunct faculty member Claire Robson.
