Maria Albuquerque
Graduate Program Committee Representative, Faculty Council Representative, LTuC Representative
My name is Maria, and I am heading to my second year of PhD in the ETAP program. I have been also a master student in the faculty of education and have been involved with EGSA in the past as a TSSU steward for 3 years. In order to experience a progressive, inclusive, and diverse faculty, the first step is to get involved with the caucus and this is why I am nominating myself for these positions. I want to be part of the work that makes grad students represented and heard so that collectively we can take actions towards a better faculty for all.
Ayush Mukherjee
Co-chair, Treasurer, LTuC Representative
I am a Year 2 PhD student in Mathematics Education. Over the last two years, I have worked with the Executive as Co-Chair and in various representative positions. In my role, I have pushed for advocacy, processes and events that benefit Education graduate students, I hope to continue with that work this year.
Maria Valiouk
Faculty Council Representative, Research Advisory Committee Representative
I recently completed my M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction at 51猎奇入口and will begin my Ph.D. in Educational Theory and Practice in September. I am deeply grateful to the Faculty of Education community, whose intellectual generosity, mentorship, and care have helped me find confidence in my scholarly voice and belonging at SFU. My experience in university governance includes service on Capilano University鈥檚 Senate, the Senate Teaching and Learning Committee, its ad hoc Subcommittee on the Evaluation of Teaching and Learning, and the Senate Bylaws, Policies and Procedures Committee. These roles have taught me to read institutional questions carefully, listen across different perspectives, and recognize how policy decisions are lived by students. I seek to serve on Faculty Council because I want to contribute thoughtfully to the community that has supported my development. I would bring informed judgment, attentive listening, and clear reporting to ensure graduate students鈥� concerns are meaningfully represented.
