The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (European Parliament, Council of the European Union 2016), took effect 25 May 2018, and has profoundly impacted enterprises worldwide. The GDPR protects the privacy rights of individuals in the European Economic Area (EEA), which includes all European Union (EU) Member States and the three other countries (that is, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) that participate in the European Free Trade Association (EFTA). 

This course has been designed to help individuals gain awareness of the GDPR, understand when and how it may apply, and provide a framework for compliance with essential parts of the regulation.
