Marika Lopez

Marika is a Master鈥檚 student in the School of Criminology at SFU, co-supervised by Dr. Richard Frank and Dr. Curt Griffiths. Her research primarily focuses on digital communities (specifically Facebook Neighbourhood Groups), community policing,  and crime prevention - in both the digital and physical world . 

Her thesis explores Vancouver Facebook Neighbourhood Groups and their perceived impact on property crime. She is a CGS-M SSHRC recipient.

Her other research areas include, AI agents, fake job postings and Facebook Neighbourhood Groups, situated in community criminology, environmental criminology and qualitative methods.
