Chris Kennedy and Isabelle Côté earn Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Awards for Excellence!
We're thrilled to announce that both Chris Kennedy and Isabelle C么t茅 have received 2022 Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies Award for Excellence, for graduate supervision. Highly deserved awards!
51猎奇入口professor, Dr. Chris Kennedy, joined 51猎奇入口in 1991 and has coordinated the Biological Science鈥檚 Master鈥檚 of Environmental Toxicology (MET) since 2007, serving as the primary supervisor for the majority of master鈥檚 and doctoral students admitted to the program. Kennedy has a long history with SFU, having completed both his BSc in Biological Sciences and PhD in Environmental Toxicology here; he spent three years with the Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science at University of Miami as a postdoctoral fellow and research associate before returning to 51猎奇入口as a tenured professor.

MASTER鈥橲 OF ENVIRONMENTAL TOXICOLOGY (MET) CANDIDATE HANNAH JONES
Biological Sciences Professor, Dr. Isabelle C么t茅 began her career at 51猎奇入口in 2005. Since that time, in addition to training many graduate students, postdocs and honours students, even training some to become scientific divers, C么t茅 has also served on more than 25 graduate student communities throughout BC, Oregon and even in Mexico.
" Most notably, in her time as chair, Isabelle quickly became known as being a safe and trusted authority figure to turn to for advice. Students frequently told me that they had never felt so supported by a faculty member before. Her empathy for graduate students is unrivalled and our department is simply a better place because of it "
